Attempting to Flee

An old Jew made an illegal attempt to flee the Soviet Union. He was caught on the border, and interrogated by the KGB.

'Citizen Rabinovich, what made you decide to try to escape?' asked the interrogator.

'I had two reasons,' replied Rabinovich.

'Firstly, if the Soviet government collapses, everyone will blame us, that is, the Jews?

'Don't talk such rot!' shouted the interrogator.

'The Soviet government is stronger than ever! It will never collapse!' 'That's my other reason...'
