General Knowledge Class A lance corporal was giving a lesson in general knowledge to a class of privates. 'Well, it's like this,' said the lance corporal didactically. 'Water boils at ninety degrees.' In the back row a soldier wearing glasses put up his hand. 'Yes?' said the lance corporal. The soldier got up. 'Excuse me, sir, but water boils at a hundred degrees.' The lance corporal looked annoyed. 'Well, we have got an educated lot here,' he grumbled, 'a whole crowd of four-eyes . . .' He opened the textbook and began to search through it, muttering as he did so: 'Smart arses . . . the educated . . .' He found the place and looked up at the soldier in amazement. 'Well, can you beat it! You're right! It is a hundred. And ninety, that's a right angle . . .' Back to the Military Jokes Home Page - Next Joke
