Dying Armenian

An old Armenian, the father of a large family, was dying.

He called together the whole family, beckoned his eldest son, whispered something in his ear and died.

'What did Father say to you?' asked the relatives.

'He said, "Save the Jews!"'

The family thought and thought about what these last words could mean. Finally the wisest of them hit on it.

'What our father was saying was this: save the Jews because when they're finished, we'll be the next!'
